This website, awesometokyoinsider.com, is a static website. It has no user accounts, no comment system and no contact forms that store data on our servers.

• Server logs. Our hosting provider (Xserver Inc., Japan) records standard access logs (IP address, requested page, browser type, date and time) for security and operational purposes.
• Analytics. We do not currently run analytics on this site. If we add a measurement tool in the future, this page will be updated to say which one and how to opt out.

This site does not set cookies of its own. Embedded third-party services (see below) may set their own cookies when you interact with them.

Third-party services

• Newsletter. Our newsletter, when available, is operated on Substack. Subscribing means your email address is handled by Substack under Substack’s privacy policy.
• Paid guides. Paid travel guides, when available, are sold through Patreon. Purchases are handled by Patreon under Patreon’s terms.
• Shop. Our online shop, when open, runs on a separate website with its own privacy policy.

Links to these services are marked as external. We do not receive your payment details.

Your rights

If you have a question about personal data in connection with this website, contact us using the address on the About page once it is published. You can ask us what data we hold about you and request its deletion.
